In
a successful effort towards providing state-of-the-art healthcare
services to its citizens, the government of the Kingdom of Saudi
Arabia commissioned numerous multi-billion dollar hospital projects
during the 1980s and continues to do so.
The
Ministry of Defense and Aviation (MODA) under the leadership of His
Highness Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud who is the Minister of
Defense and Aviation and Inspector General has been at the forefront
and a very prominent accomplisher of His Majesty King Fahad’s aim
of providing the best and free medical care to all citizens and
residents.

January of 1992, United Medical Group (UMG) began a management
contract (extended through 2003) for Prince Sultan Hospital, Al-Hada
Armed Forces Hospital and the Rehabilitation Center (PSHRC) located
in Taif, Saudi Arabia. UMG will be managing the facilities on behalf
of the Saudi Arabia Ministry of Defense and Aviation - Medical
Services Department (MODA-MSD). PSHRC will be self-operated under the
