Welcome to PSHRC

In a successful effort towards providing state-of-the-art healthcare services to its citizens, the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia commissioned numerous multi-billion dollar hospital projects during the 1980s and continues to do so.

The Ministry of Defense and Aviation (MODA) under the leadership of His Highness Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud who is the Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General has been at the forefront and a very prominent accomplisher of His Majesty King Fahad’s aim of providing the best and free medical care to all citizens and residents.

In January of 1992, United Medical Group (UMG) began a management contract (extended through 2003) for Prince Sultan Hospital, Al-Hada Armed Forces Hospital and the Rehabilitation Center (PSHRC) located in Taif, Saudi Arabia. UMG will be managing the facilities on behalf of the Saudi Arabia Ministry of Defense and Aviation - Medical Services Department (MODA-MSD). PSHRC will be self-operated under the supervision of MODA-MSD on June 2003. The primary mission of the hospital complex is to provide excellent Medical Care for Military Staff and their families.

Al-Hada Armed Forces Hospital, so called because it is located in Al-Hada – a beautiful hilly resort 15km northwest from Taif, is the main hospital commissioned in 1980. It is a modern, acute facility with 368 beds. Prince Sultan Hospital, opened in 1990, is mainly for servicemen and their dependents. It is a 52-bed facility located 50km from Al-Hada Hospital. The Rehabilitation Center, started in 1980, is a 100-bed facility located in the city of Taif. It offers restorative and rehabilitative care for men, women and children.
